SMARTER AGRICULTURE

Smarter Agriculture is an IBM project in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Wildlife Fund, the Department of Science and Technology’s Advanced Science & Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI), the Isabela State University (ISU), and the provincial government of Isabela.

Under this project, they developed a mobile-based and analytics powered tool called the Farmer Decision Support System (FDSS) - a system that integrates climate and weather forecasts, and crop models to aid farmers.

Involvement:

  • UI and UX for the project's web and mobile applications

  • Created project logo;

  • Created vector graphics for visualization of growth stages of several crops that the system caters to such as corn, rice, etc.;

  • Collaborated with client and team of developers in production and fine-tuning of the applications;

  • Worked closely with mobile developer using Ionic Framework for the mobile application;

  • Customized icons and other graphic elements for mobile appication;

  • Created posters and infographics for events and presentations such as the AGU Fall Meeting (2015).
